Freelance Quantity Surveyor (Main Contracting) – Remote / Brighton and London based Projects

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a consultancy working with 2–3 established Main Contractors on an ongoing basis.

This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering full time freelance engagement, with work primarily carried out remotely while supporting projects for businesses based in Brighton and the South East. Candidates seeking 4 days per week would also work. 

Role Overview:
The successful Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support across multiple live projects, working closely with Main Contractors through our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing project costs and commercial reporting

• Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Subcontractor procurement and account management

• Cost forecasting and budget control

• Contract administration and commercial compliance

• Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice

• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders

• Assisting across multiple projects and contractors simultaneously

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Main Contracting

• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge

• Ability to manage multiple projects independently

• Experience with JCT contracts preferred

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Comfortable working remotely and autonomously, but happy to attend client meetings and sites as required

Package:

• £300 – £350 per day

• Ongoing freelance work

• Contract flexible arrangement

• Remote working with occasional Brighton/South East meetings if required
