Quantity Surveyor
Freelance Quantity Surveyor (Main Contracting) – Remote / Brighton and London based Projects
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a consultancy working with 2–3 established Main Contractors on an ongoing basis.
This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering full time freelance engagement, with work primarily carried out remotely while supporting projects for businesses based in Brighton and the South East. Candidates seeking 4 days per week would also work.
Role Overview:
The successful Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support across multiple live projects, working closely with Main Contractors through our client.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing project costs and commercial reporting

Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts

Subcontractor procurement and account management

Cost forecasting and budget control

Contract administration and commercial compliance

Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice

Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders

Assisting across multiple projects and contractors simultaneously
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Main Contracting

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge

Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Experience with JCT contracts preferred

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Comfortable working remotely and autonomously, but happy to attend client meetings and sites as required
Package:

£300 – £350 per day

Remote working with occasional Brighton/South East meetings if required
