Estimator / QS - Joinery
I’m currently working exclusively with a well-established carpentry & joinery contractor who is looking to bring on an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work.
This is a key role within the business, managing multiple projects while also supporting estimating and tendering when capacity allows.
The Role:
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and managing budgets across multiple projects
- Measuring and valuing works on-site, including interim valuations and final accounts
- Procuring materials and subcontractors in line with programme and budget
- Running up to 5 projects at one time (£250k – £2m)
- Liaising with clients, site teams, and internal departments to ensure smooth delivery
- Monitoring costs, identifying risks, and reporting on variations
- Supporting estimating and tendering activities when required
What I’m Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within carpentry & joinery (essential)
- Must come from a subcontractor background – no main contractor experience only
- Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing and installation processes
- Hands-on carpentry/joinery background is highly desirable
- Solid commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
